Morbid Angel are a band from Florida that has been around for more than 30 years and are pioneers in the death metal scene and this is a review of their 2017 album "Kingdoms Disdained" which was released by Silver Lining Music.
A very heavy sound along with a great amount of dark sounding melodies starts off the album before going into a very fast musical direction which also introduces blast beats onto t he recording while the vocals are mostly deep death metal growls and the solos and leads also demonstrate a great amount of talent and skill when t hey are utilized.
Throughout the recording you can hear a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts while all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them along with the music making a return back to more of a pure death metal and the music is mostly rooted in the 90's style and the music always remains very heavy.
On this recording Morbid Angel returns back to their roots ditching the industrial style and making a pure death metal album, the production sound s very professional while the lyrics cover Ancient Sumerian themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Morbid Angel and if you are a fan of this band, you should enjoy this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Piles Of Little Arms" "The Righteous Voice" "The Pillars Crumbling" and "The Fall Of Idols". 8 out of 10.
